Trivia Teams to Compete for Their Share of $15,000* on Jan. 27 and 28
SALT RIVER PIMA-MARICOPA INDIAN COMMUNITY, Ariz. (Jan. 17, 2018) – Already the Valley’s top destination for gaming and entertainment, Talking Stick Resort is set to dominate a new realm, trivia. On Jan. 27 and 28, the resort will host the Arizona State Trivia Championship, a first in the state. As part of the event six teams will use their smarts to vie for a share of $15,000*.
Teams of up to six will participate in the two-day event hosted by Showtime Trivia Live. Trivia categories and topics will vary, but past events have included questions from movies and music, sports, history and more. To play, questions are presented to teams on screens throughout the room, players then write down their answers which are then collected by score keepers. A wagering system allows teams to wager points on questions of their choice.
During the competition, registered teams will be randomly placed in one of four preliminary events beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27. Following the initial event on Saturday, the top five team will advance to the championship on Sunday, Jan. 28. Each of the teams will then compete for one of the three cash prizes. The Arizona State Trivia Championship prizes are as follows:
1st Place: $7,000
2nd Place: $5,000
3rd Place: $3,000
